Australian Chocolate Diamonds
Australia is known for being a significant producer of high-quality white and colored diamonds, including brown diamonds. The term “chocolate diamonds” is used to make brown diamonds sound more appealing and to market them as a fashionable and desirable gemstones. Brown diamonds are actually one of the most common colors of diamonds, but they were historically considered less valuable than colorless or fancy-colored diamonds. Australia, particularly the Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia, was one of the major sources of brown diamonds.
